After a busy term 3, we are all looking forward to the Spring Holidays, warm weather and some down time!
Each year in Australia, studies show an increase in childhood obesity. If kids learn to be active early & enjoy movement and exercise now, it will stay with them throughout adulthood as well!
With this in mind, and the kids’ home for a couple of weeks, check out our Top 5 Holiday Activities, ensuring your children are active and keep moving this school break!
(1) Scoot into Spring
Why not head to the local bike path for a scooter session with the kids. So great for their co-ordination, balance, fitness and lots of outdoor fun.
(2) Water Fun
Make the most of this warmer weather! Set up the slip n slide, fill up the water balloons, slip, slop, slap and have some fun!
(3) Gymnastics Holiday Clinic!
It’s holiday clinic time at Delta! We are so excited this holiday to be introducing our Gymnastics Ninja Warrior Course as part of our Brisbane Holiday Clinic fun! Is our first Delta Ninja Gymnast living under your roof ? Gold Coast and Barron Valley kids can spring into the September holiday clinics with loads of fun, gymnastics activities to challenge and keep them happy, busy and moving!
Head outside and create the kids own vege/herb/flower garden. Use muscles while digging, planting and watering and watch them grow!
(5) Make Your Own
The kids will no doubt have lots of plans for the holidays, with visits to the movies, theme parks & play dates. So why not make your own fun at home as well! Frisbee throw and catch is great for hand eye co-ordination. Back yard tiggy, really gets the body moving! Grab some chalk on the driveway for your own game of hop scotch, practising left and right hops & two feet jumps. And nothing beats a good old dance off with musical statues! Family fun and great bonding with your kids as well!
