Parents of our Aspire gymnasts, may have heard of our PAD Testing program. In the coming weeks our Aspire gymnasts in level 1, right through to our International gymnasts will complete their first round of PAD testing for 2018!
So what is PAD testing?
PAD stands for physical, ability and development and our Delta Aspire gymnasts training 3+ hours a week are involved in this testing process throughout the year. The test is designed to monitor gymnasts strength, flexibility and skill development and gives coaches valuable insight into the gymnasts fitness levels, as well as providing integral information which allows them to set goals and design their programs and preparation to accelerate learning and improvement.
The PAD test covers three components, at all levels of our Aspire program.
- Skill Specific – measuring the core skills required for all high level gymnastics
- Flexibility – measuring hip, shoulder, hamstring and calf flexibility
- Strength – measuring a combination of the strength and endurance required for Artistic gymnastics.
Parents are provided with a report following each PAD test and are welcome to discuss any questions with our Delta Team Leaders at each venue.
Good luck to all gymnasts completing their PAD Tests – we know how hard you are working and love seeing your improvements! We love our role in helping build strong, active, healthy and confident kids!
Stay strong, be fierce!
