Our amazing Delta Level 7, through to Senior International gymnasts kicked off the 2019 competition season on the weekend at My Routine Rules!

Held at Delta Kedron, My Routine Rules is a fantastic opportunity for the senior competitive team to perform their routines and perfect their new skills and connections as they get ready to head into the season.

The format of My Routine Rules is a little different from a traditional gymnastics event. Girls shine in a leotard of their choice and compete one at a time, one apparatus at a time – so for spectators, it means seeing every single routine and every minute of the action!

As the official launch of the Aspire Season, it’s a fantastic opportunity for our Delta families to come together and watch some amazing gymnastics in action. Commonwealth Games medalist Georgia Godwin, led the way for our seniors and wowed the crowd with her routines, competing on three of the four apparatus.  It’s so great to see Georgia back in form as she returns to competition following a foot operation last year!

Our sensational sevens opened the event.  Fifteen girls took to the competition floor, in what was for many their first introduction to senior competition. The girls looked confident & prepared and we loved seeing their personalities shine through as they performed their individual routines for their first time. (In Australia, up to level 7 gymnasts perform compulsory routines on all 4 apparatus).

Our level 8-10 and international gymnasts looked amazing in the second round of competition on Saturday night. The high standard routines and level of skills was second to none. With booming vaults, high swinging bars and some difficult skills on floor and beam (we have an amazing 5 gymnasts performing a double back sault on floor in 2019), this year’s seniors are a force to be reckoned with.

In 2019 Delta has one senior international (Georgia Godwin), 3 Junior Internationals (Lucy, Bella & Sam) and 5 amazing Level 10’s (Jess, Jaymee, Zoe, Tegan & Natasha) competing.  Before performing at MRR, these girls met some of our younger and up and coming Delta gymnasts, signing autographs and having photos with the girls.

We even had a very special guest who travelled all the way (5hrs) from  Harvey Bay for My Routine Rules.  Piper Dower is a level 5 gymnast from Wide Bay Gymnastics and was so excited to meet her hero, Georgia Godwin and see the seniors in action. Thanks for coming Piper, we hope you had a ball!

My Routine Rules is always a wonderful way to launch the season. Thank you for all of our Delta families who came along to watch our senior girls. The atmosphere, your cheers and support certainly lift the girls in competition and seeing the seniors perform is inspirational for our younger gymnasts coming through the ranks.

To our level 7-10 & international gymnasts and their coaches – we can’t wait to see what 2019 brings.  You’ve got this!
