We are theme crazy at Jnr GymKids! So why all the jungle animals, snowballs and different themes for our Under 5’s?

Themes create a fun environment, stimulate the imagination & are hooks for remembering movement experiences.  Bringing out a focus of learning in each class, themes encourage engagement and assist language development, while also supporting the gymnastics skills we learn in class.

Themes also help unleash children’s imaginations!  Imaginative play is more than just lots of fun – children learn through expressing their imagination and our under 5’s Jnr GymKids program is all about playing with purpose.

We kicked off the year with our fun Body Theme, focusing on body awareness.  Body awareness affects every aspect of a child’s learning and life; and is the first step toward children developing an idea of who they are and what they are capable of!  As well as building strength, flexibility & coordination, the Delta Jnr GymKids program continuously helps create strong brain-body maps, which are essential foundations for moving & learning.

Since then we have had so much fun, with Rockets and Stars, Aussie Animals, Over Under Through, Easter, Super Heroes, Mermaids & Pirates, Left & Right, Frozen, Teddy Bears, Cars, Fairies, Dinosaurs, Fast & Slow and Jungle Animals taking over the gym each week!  So much learning and movement for our clever under 5’s!
