The Delta Force Team at St Hilda's Southport is made up of boys and girls who train from 9 hours to 20 hours per week and is lead by Program Manager / Club Manager Jodie McGinnity.
While Delta is committed to provide an opportunity for every child to participate in the sport of gymnastics, the Delta Force is the area of our club designed to cater for those talented children who have the capacity to compete in high level gymnastics.
Our program is based on a systematic approach to competitive gymnastics which provides an opportunity for each and every child to achieve to their potential. We pride ourselves on preparing each child both physically and mentally to be the best they can be and enjoy competitive gymnastics and the life experiences and lessons it can provide.
BOYS
Our boys program is lead by the highly experienced and successful George Jones. In 2007 George lead the boys program to rank 6th in Queensland at the State Club Championships. Over the past two years George has prepared boys for selection to the QAS program, State team, National Team and State Squad.
In 2007 our boys performed admirably to place 6th in the state at the State Club Championships, place 2 boys on the Queensland Team and place two individual all around State Champions. In 2007 / 2008 we are focussing on expanding our base of male gymnasts and now have three feeder teams to the Delta Force program who will compete at local and state events throughout the year.
GIRLS
Our girls program is now ranked 3rd in Queensland and 14th in the country. In 2007 we placed 6 girls into state teams for Queensland and prepared the Queensland Level 10 Individual State Champion.
Lead by Jodie McGinnity the program is focussing on each girl's phsyical preparation to enable them to achieve to their potential in 2008 and beyond. In 2008 we will contest all individual and team events in Australia and aim to sustain and improve our state and national rankings.
