Our Staff

At Delta we are proud of our record of attracting and supporting the best team of coaches available.  All of our staff are registered as Nationally accredited coaches with Gymnastics Australia and hold current working with children blue cards.  

 

Delta Gold Coast Full Time Team

Jess Ross, Delta Gold Coast Club Manager

As Acting Club Manager and Venue Manager for the St. Hilda’s facility, Jess oversees our entire  Developmental class program.  She coaches all classes, from our Early Movers through to Extension Plus and Squads, and also serves as the Extension Coordinator.  Her gymnasts routinely win Regional titles (the highest level of competition to which they are eligible).

At St. Hilda’s, Jess also coaches the in-school program offered to St. Hilda students, as well as the St. Hilda competitive school gymnastics teams. 

Jess is a former competitive gymnast, has coached for 11 years, and each year judges local, Regional, and Queensland State Championships competitions.

 

Sarah Denigan, Delta Gold Coast Assistant Club Manager 

Sarah joins the Delta Gold Coast team in 2013 after being a gymnastics coach at various clubs across England, Hong Kong and Australia over the past 12 years.  Most recently, Sarah was the Head of Competition Gymnastics at a club in Adelaide and has also been the Director of Dance and Gymnastics at a Hong Kong International School.  Sarah brings a wealth of knowledge to her role as Assistant Club Manager having completed a BSc (Honours) in Sports and Exercise Science and also a PGCE in Physical Education. 

Sarah was a Level 8 gymnast/trampolinist herself, has a black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do and is passionate about maintaining a healthy lifestyle by regulary training and competing in CrossFit competitions.     

 

Anna Plourde, Women’s Competitive Program Coordinator

Anna Plourde is a Senior Women’s Coach at Delta, assisting with the women’s squad and developmental programs.  She has been coaching for 25 years, focusing primarily on Senior (Level 7-10 and University) women’s gymnastics.

As a gymnast, Anna was privileged to be able to train under USA National Team Coaches Steve and Beth Rybacki through high school, and then continued on to compete for Yale University.   Upon graduation, Anna was one of three gymnasts in the United States awarded an NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarship for her athletic and academic achievements.  She used the scholarship to go on to Harvard Law School, and was an also attorney in the United States. 

 

Mike Plourde, Men’s Program Coordinator

Mike Plourde has joined Delta to redevelop the Boys program at Delta Gold Coast.  The experience he brings is extensive: he has been coaching men’s gymnastics for 20 years, has coached nationally-ranked gymnasts in the United States, and was the Assistant National Coach for New Zealand in 2010. 

Mike was a latecomer to gymnastics, only beginning competitive gymnastics at age 14.  He continued competing through university, earning a national ranking on Floor Exercise, and serving as team captain.  He holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science, and qualified as a FIG judge (eligible to judge internationally) for the 2005-2008, and 2009-2012 Olympic cycles.
 

 

Lauren Hall, Member Services Officer and Development Coach

Lauren was a competitive gymnast at Ferny Hills Gymnastics Club and accepted a Full Time coaching roll with Delta in 2008. In 2011 Lauren took on the role of Assistant to the Club Manager for Delta Brisbane and has been dedicated to the organisation of the Delta Brisbane Carnivals. Lauren has been a valuable member of the Delta team for the past 5 years and will join the Delta Gold Coast team in 2013 as the Member Services Officer and Development Coach.

Kim Whitehead, Development & Extension Coach

Kim has been a valuable part of the Delta coaching team for the past 6 years and was inspired to become involved in gymnastics coaching after her daughter’s involvement in the sport grew.  Kim works with a range of Development classes through to the Extension and is also a part of the St Hilda’s Pre-Prep and Prep program.  Kim is also an Intermediate Judge and is passionate about helping children grow up through gymnastics.  
 

 

 

Nikki Haworth, Development & WAG Squad Coach

Nikki has been involved in coaching gymnastics for the past 10 years and joined the Delta team back in 2007. Nikki is a former Level 9 gymnast who has also completed a Bachelor of Exercise Science. Nikki is passionate about her involvement in gymnastics and works with our Development classes as well as coaching the WAG Squad 12-20 gymnasts.

 

Shauna O'Halloran-Anderson, Development Coach

Shauna started coaching in 2011 after finishing a successful gymnastics career with Delta as a Level 8 gymnast.  Shauna is currently in Year 12 at St Hilda’s School and is also completing her Certificate Three in Sport and Communication with Delta.  In 2012 Shauna will be coaching our Development classes and is passionate about passing on her passion for gymnastics to children.

 

Samantha Pearce, Development Coach

Samantha is a former Level 10 Delta gymnast who made the transition to coaching at the beginning of 2012 so that she could continue her involvement in the sport that she loves.  Samantha represented Queensland on the State Team in 2009 and also had the opportunity to compete as an individual at the National Titles in 2011.  Samantha is currently in Year 11 at St Hilda’s School and will be working with our Development Classes in 2012.
