The GCA Cup was the most fantastic tour!

We arrived in Sydney on the Friday morning to drop our bags at the accommodation and fit in a short training session to get the blood flowing and have a look at the competition venue.

After training we set off for Luna Park and had the most amazing afternoon with gymnasts from Waverly of  Melbource, Northern Beaches of Sydney and Splitz from Brisbane.

The competition went smoothly over the weekend and our girls did a fantastic job with many scoring career personal best scores.

Special mention to Kristy Bishop who won the Level 10 division and was awarded "Gymnast of the Meet".

Clubs were awarded points for placing gymnasts in the top 10 in any division, and our Delta Brisbane girls were fortunate to earn enough points to place 1st overall. 

On the Sunday afternoon we had a Bar B Q with the girls from other clubs and then finished the night with our Tour Concert held at Northern Beaches.

On the Monday we travelled to Taronga Zoo and the girls found it fascinating seeing many animals that are not available to see in Queensland.

The Level 4 - 7's went back on Monday night while our Level 8 - 10 leaders stayed an extra day and had an amazing day jet boating on Sydney Harbour, Trapezing and playing up on Bondi before heading back to Queensland on Tuesday night.

Thankyou very much to our amazing chaperones who cared for our girls (and coaches) and a very special thankyou to Mark Forrest and his team at Northern Beaches who put on the most amazing event and did everything they could to make sure we were looked after.  CAN'T WAIT FOR GCA 2010!
