Gymnasts at the Delta Gymnastics St Hilda's Southport Club are working hard to prepare their skills for the upcoming Winter Carnival held at the St Hilda's Venue on the weekend of May 15th/16th. It will be a day of excitement as all recreational gymnasts show their parents what they've been learning so far in the 2010 gymnastics year and receive a certificate and medal for their efforts.
Carnivals are unique to Delta and are based around the fact that all gymnasts work hard whether they are in our recreation or competitive programs. The carnival provides members with the opportunity to show off their talents to family and friends and serves as a great form of recognition and feedback for all involved.
Gymnasts in Gym Start and above will be working on our 'Steps to Success' program in preparation for the carnival and will receive feedback on each skill completed. Performing the 'Steps' on carnival day acts as a mini competition to these gymnasts with their achievements rewarded at the end of the session with a medal for all. The difference to a regular competition is that gymnasts are competing against themselves and simply trying to improve their feedback from carnival to carnival.
In conjunction with the Winter Carnival, Delta Gymnastics St Hilda's Southport is hosting the Delta Duel competition for all of the Delta gymnasts in our Extension or Squad classes. This is a preparation meet for them as they get ready for the upcoming competition season and gives them a chance to practice their routines in a comfortable, fun and supportive environment. We encourage all carnival participants to stick around and see where some of our Early Movers 'old girls' have ended up.

See you there!!!
